تعتبر آلة الناي من الركائز المهمة في فرق الموسيقي العربية ولا شك بان الاهتمام بالألة من عزف وتأليف ودراسة امر في غاية الأهمية لما تحتله الالة من مكانة وسط مختلف الآلات الموسيقية.فألة الناي كما ذكرنا تحتل أهمية خاصة في أداء الموسيقى العربية عبر القرون كما أنها تستخدم كآلة منفردة للتعبير عن تلك الموسيقى في مختلف المواقف في الموسيقي المصرية فهي تسير وفق مقامات وإيقاعات متعارف عليها، فاحياناً تعبر عن الشجن واحياناً عن الفرح وهكذا فمن خلال والاطلاع على الأبحاث وجد الباحث ندرة في التاليف لآلة الناي كعمل رئيس وعزوف شباب الباحثين عن التاليف في ابحاثهم فمن خلال تاليف مقطوعة لآلة الناي من قبل الباحث يمكن ان يشجع الباحثين في التاليف لآلة مع إثراء مكتبة الموسيقية العربية. كما يهدف هذا البحث إلى التعرف على آلة الناي والتعرف على أهم مؤلفي آلة الناي، وتأليف مقطوعة موسيقية حرة لآلة الناي. فتكونت المقطوعة من مقدمة وقفلة وأربعة أفكار متنوعة على مقام البياتي.واستخدم فيها الايقاعات المختلفة المصمودي الصغير بالتنويع، وإيقاع الدويك بالتنويع وإيقاع الوحدة الكبيرة.
