The Office of International Relations and Arab Universities Affairs announces a PhD position in solid lignin enzyme engineering at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology at Boku University, Vienna, Austria.

The Institute of Environmental Biotechnology at Boku University, in Tulln, Austria, is seeking a PhD candidate in enzyme engineering within the framework of the European Better Biopolymers Research Network.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must have a Master's degree (or equivalent) in biotechnology or a related field.

• Fluency in English is required.

• Must not have resided, worked, or studied in Austria for more than 12 months during the three years preceding the start date.

Notes:

• The project is expected to start on March 1, 2026, for a total duration of 3 years.

• A mandatory monthly health insurance allowance of N$1,250.
