The dean of the faculty of engineering recieved a letter from the office of president of assiut university informing him that all employees; permanent or temporary, will be given a holiday for a week from 24-5-2014 to 29-5-2014. Any employee who will come due to urgent need will be given his holiday later. This holiday will not affect the salary and the bonus of ant employee.

 The faculty and leadership development center sent its  application form for the faculty members training courses to the faculty departments to attend courses in the centre.

The Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) has stimulated the Egyptian scientific society by funding distinguished papers with 100,000 L.E. to cover the following fileds:1- Buying research equipments.2- Fees for using outside labs (e.g electronic microscope)3-Bonus for the research team up to 20% of the grant.4-Trips inside egypt.5-National conferences. 6- Patents registeration7- Fees for national and international publishing Instructors and assistant lecturers can apply to these grants. The due date for this grant is 1-7-2014

The German Language Learning Center in assiut university decided that assistant lecturers will not be allowed to travel to study abroad or take exams outside assiut as the center is offering the same levels and the same terms of conditions to travel to German Speaking Countries.

The faculty club will hold 4 group breakfast in ramadan on every Sunday for 200 member in each breakfast. Registration will open on sunday 15-6-2014 and will close on Sunday 22-6-2014 or until all the places get full.

The Association  of Arab Universities relaunched the prize for basic sciences and engineering for three months from May till the end of July 2014. This prize was formely withheld over lack of suitable candidates.

Terms of Conditions: 1- The candidate must be arab and works for an arabic university for at least five years. 2-The age of the candidate must not exceed 50 years old. 3-Four copies of the research paper must be delivered. 4-The candidate must send the approval of his university or his institution. 5- Research papers can be accepted in Arabic, English, or French. 6-All the required documents must be sent at once and any other papers will not be accepted.

The environmental development and community service in the faculty of medicine invites the faculty members to attend the first charity forum to save the patients of upper Egypt on Sunday  22-6-2014 in the eighth hall in the administration building- Assiut University.
