Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawi, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Magdy Abdel-Gawad Alwan, Dean of the Faculty
Assiut University held the third folk and performing arts festival for all faculties, and the Faculty of Arts won second place, and the faculty obtained several other centers as follows:
Best First Center Design Award for Mr. Islam Mustafa, Best Second Trainer for Mr. Hossam El-Din Hassan, Best Second Center Performer Noha Ashraf.

Prof. Dr. Maha Kamel Ghanem, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, paid an extensive visit to the Faculty of Arts, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Thabet Abdel Moneim, Director of the Center for Environmental Studies, on the sidelines of the proceedings of the celebration of "Assiut University and our Green Future", as well as the celebrations of the Egyptian state at the International Climate Conference COP27 in its twenty-seventh edition under the slogan "Implementation Summit" in the presence of nearly 791 countries, which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 6 to 81 November 2022.
Her Excellency was received by Prof. Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Hamed Mashhour, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Khaled Salama, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abu Rehab, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Sameh Al-Banna, Head of the Department of Archeology, Prof. Dr. Noha Abdel Aziz, Head of the French Language Department, Ms. Sahar Mohamed, Secretary General of the Faculty, and a group of faculty members at the Faculty.
Her Excellency was keen to make an inspection tour of the college to follow up on the developments and environmental interest in the college and planted a tree

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts participates in the activities of the International Conference of the Arab Council of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists
Prof. Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, attended and participated in the work of the International Conference of the Arab Council of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists in its twenty-fifth session under the auspices of the League of Arab States, from 12 to 13 November 2022 at the headquarters of Arab Archaeologists in Sheikh Zayed.
In this regard, more than seventy researchers from all over the Arab world will participate in the work of the conference, and His Excellency participated as a rapporteur for a session entitled Archeology and Islamic Civilization, during which many distinguished researches in this field were presented.

Prof. Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, accompanied by Dr. Noha Abdel Aziz, Head of the French Language Department, honored Dr. Shaima Abdel Aal, Assistant Lecturer in the French Language Department, after winning the first place for the best translated text from the "French language" during her participation in the Young Translators Competition, which was organized by the Translation Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture, which is held annually and was this year in the field of scientific culture "Environment and Climate Issues" for young translators under the age of 35 years, and her participation in The competition with a translated text entitled "Nature-Based Solutions to Combat Climate Change" The competition witnessed the submission of 75 research papers from 9 languages, and the winning works were selected according to several criteria, including the accuracy of the translation from the original, that the work is a new addition, the integrity of the Arabic language, the possibility of understanding and the smoothness of expression
In this context, Dr. Magdy Alwan stressed the importance of supporting distinguished young faculty members to participate in all forums, competitions and various scientific activities in a way that enriches the scientific and research movement of the Faculty of Arts in particular and Assiut University in general.
