Assiut University achieving big progress in the US news Global Ranking

The US- News Global Ranking 2022 has been announced recently its 8th version. Assiut University has achieved big progress by 88 levels worldwide. Assiut University ranked 804 at the US-news Best global universities in 2022 compared with 892 in 2021. It is also ranked 21st between African Universities and 5th among Egyptian universities.  
US-new ranking is an American ranking that includes 1750 universities all over the globe and takes into consideration the international reputation of the university, the regional reputation of the university, international publications in journals, books, and conferences as well as the international citation rate.
Additionally, this international universities evaluator ranked the universities by specialty, in which Assiut university ranked 450 in engineering, 484 in chemistry 522 in material science, 674 in clinical medicine, and 685 in physics. 
University administration as well as the international ranking office would like to congratulate its staff for this progress hoping for more advancement.

7.2.5 Energy reviews to identify areas where energy wastage is highest

  • The faculties have developed a program to rationalize energy consumption, which includes several measures in accordance with the decisions issued by the Assiut University Council, such as cleaning and maintaining all lamps and light fixtures, and turning off air conditioning units and lights during periods when faculty members and staff are not present in their workspaces.
  • Committees have been formed within each faculty to hold regular meetings to monitor the implementation of energy-saving measures and prepare reports. Based on the recommendation of the Energy Efficiency Committee to use energy-saving devices, the relevant departments in the faculties have provided and distributed energy-efficient light bulbs. Additionally, the faculties' administrations ensure that energy-efficient devices and supplies are purchased when acquiring new equipment.
  • The faculties have implemented the necessary measures to rationalize electricity consumption in accordance with the decision issued by the Assiut University Council in its session No. (643).

Numerous research projects, supported by various organizations, are underway to address this issue by identifying energy wastage areas within Assiut University. These projects are supervised by the University's Energy Management Center and have produced studies such as the following:
