Egypt is suffering from lack of water shortage and supply and all governmental efforts are under running to optimize water usage and encourage water recycling.
Our university had a large farm and fields pertained at the Faculty of Agriculture.
The university had a policy to use modern irrigation technology to decrease water loss.
Additionally, Assiut University has a large station for water recycling that is used in irrigation of the green areas and wood trees throughout the university.
Through a complete system of renovation and fixing all the tap waters and sanitary systems
Assiut University had succeeded to reduce the cost of consumed water by 200% during the years 2019-2020 and further reduction 0f 50% in 2021
Furthermore, the university initiated campaigns to increase awareness of its students and staff of our water shortage challenges and how to face it.
Assiut university as well as all other public places in Egypt allow drinking of free tab water through available dispensers in different places of the university campus.
