Student Union Elections - Assiut University

In his speech during the opening proceedings of the Sixth International Conference, held at Assiut University under the auspices of HE. Dr Khaled Abdul-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, by the Association of Faculties of Fine Arts, Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, general Secretary of the AAru advocated an increase in the support for scientific research and Arab researchers in all fields of knowledge due to the significance and impact of scientific research on elevating Arab communities and placing Arab countries with advanced nations.

Assiut University inaugurated the proceedings of the sixth International Conference of the Association of Faculties of Fine Arts organized by Assiut University in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the AArU. Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal, Assiut University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, General Secretary of the AAru, and Dr. Mohamed Hasan Al-Haj, President of the Association of Faculties of Fine Arts attended the opening session of the conference. The Conference is per se an assertion of the keenness of the Faculties of Fine and Applied Arts to strengthen the educational and cultural ties around the Arab World in all innovative and artistic fields considering that the role of arts is basic in spreading the peaceful coexistence, acceptance of the other, promoting the oneness of human kind, and creative expression of life issues.

The Arab Association for Updating Medical Knowledge held its 19th International Conference in Cairo on: "Gynecology and Sterility" coinciding with the celebrations of the international Day for Women. The conference was headed by Dr. Sobhy Abu-Louz, Chairman of the Association, and Dr. Ibrahim Qandeel, General Secretary of the Group. Dr. Khaled Sweidan, Conference Chairman announced the names of Egyptian Obstetricians to be honored during the conference proceedings. Of these names, two scholars from Assiut University, Dr Hasan salah, ex vice president, and Dr. Diaa-el-Din Abdel-Aal Al-Nashaar came first for their remarkable contributions in the field of Gynecology.                        

Dr. Mansour El-Mansi, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Assiut stated that they met a delegation from the Japanese Foundation, Cairo Office who participated in the forum and workshop held for the faculty members, assistants, and graduate students specialized in the majors mentioned. The delegation included Mr. Satushi Kuakita, Assistant Director of the Foundation, Critic and Artist, Masahiro Mura, representing Tohoko region, Porcelain Artist, Takayushi Shitara, and yasmeen Zakaria, teaching Assistant, Department of Japanese language, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University.

Isothermal DNA amplification workshop

In his meeting with 14 students from Dagestan and Pyatigorsk Universities, a supervisor, and a teacher for teaching Russian to Egyptian students, Dr. Mohamed Abdul-Latif, Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development referred to the strength of the relationships between Assiut University and federal Russian Universities which have been in effect for about 23 years.

Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, Assiut University President announced the success of three new surgeries of liver implantation at Al-Rajhi University Hospital and this assures the success of the hospital in the process of the distinguished work which started in November 2014. The total number of liver implantations done at this hospital now reaches 17 cases of currently healthy people. The success of the hospital asserts the distinguished effort of all cadres in the hospital; surgeons, nursing staff, and administrative personnel.

On his return from a short-term scientific visit to Mexico, Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal, Assiut University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, indicated that he has managed to sign an agreement of understanding between Assiut University, Barcelona University, and Autonoma de Coahuila University to which the Faculty of Medicine in Torion is affiliated. Dr. Al-Gammal assured that such agreements are significant in achieving the university's aspirations for scientific and research mutual openness to renowned universities and institutions in all fields all over the world to enhance the educational and scientific level of Assiut University under the auspices of its President, Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis.
