Awareness seminar on the dangers of corruption and mechanisms for combating it

Under the generous patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Sports Sciences, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Emad Samir, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Dr. Mustafa El-Sebaei, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, organized an important awareness seminar today entitled: "The Dangers of Corruption and Mechanisms for Combating It in the New Republic."

At the beginning of the seminar, Professor Dr. Emad Samir, Dean of the Faculty, delivered a welcoming speech in which he expressed his pleasure at the presence of His Excellency the Vice President of the University at the Faculty on his first visit since assuming his position. He wished him every success and presented him with a commemorative shield in appreciation of his support, sincere efforts, and dedication to serving the community and developing the environment within the university. This gesture reflected the spirit of constructive cooperation between the university leadership and the Faculty, as well as between faculty members, staff, and students.

The opening session also featured a speech by His Excellency the Vice President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, who began by welcoming the attendees and thanking the Faculty of Sports Sciences for its effective role in organizing this important seminar. His Excellency commended the Faculty's awareness in addressing such a sensitive topic as "corruption," emphasizing the importance of disseminating a culture of integrity and transparency, and the necessity of educating students and staff on methods of combating corruption and its impact on the state's efforts to build the new republic.

The seminar was attended by prominent figures from the Faculty leadership, most notably Professor Dr. Yasser Hassan Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Ahmed Khodary, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Professor Dr. Tarek Abdel Aziz, Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction of Physical Education and former Dean of the Faculty; and Mr. Hamdy El-Adawy, the Faculty Secretary. Faculty members, students, and a large number of staff members also participated.

During the meeting, Dr. Mustafa Mohamed Morsi, Coordinator of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy at Assiut University, presented a comprehensive overview of the most prominent forms of corruption, its impact on development, and mechanisms for combating it in accordance with the state's vision for governance and accountability. Attendees actively participated in the discussions and raised important questions about ways to promote a culture of integrity within institutions.

The seminar concluded with an open dialogue in the college's discussion hall, amidst significant student engagement that reflected their interest in national awareness issues and their role in supporting anti-corruption efforts.

The Zayed Charity Race is one of the largest sporting and charitable events of the year, and this year's event coincides with the UAE's National Day celebrations.

Condolences on the death of the brother of Professor Dr. Bahaa Sayed Mahmoud

With hearts filled with faith in God's will and decree, the Faculty of Physical Education and all its members, represented by Professor Dr. Emad Samir, Dean of the Faculty, and all faculty members, staff, and students, mourn the passing of the late Tharwat Sayed Mahmoud, brother of Professor Dr. Bahaa Sayed Mahmoud, Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. They extend their deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family, praying to Almighty God to grant him His abundant mercy and admit him to His spacious Paradise.

In line with the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to regulate and develop the sports system and strengthen the scientific foundation of Egyptian sports, and based on the decision of His Excellency Minister Professor Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports:

Professor Dr. Emad Samir, Dean of the Faculty, extends his sincere congratulations to Professor Dr. Emad El-Din Shaaban, Professor of Sports Physiology at the Faculty, on his selection as a member of the Scientific Council for Sports.

The Dean affirms that this selection is a culmination of Dr. Emad El-Din Shaaban's distinguished scientific career and recognized academic contributions. Two awards will be given in each age category, for a total of four awards in each category.

Congratulations and a new source of pride to Dr. Amal Hassan Hussein

تThe Faculty of Sports Sciences at Assiut University, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Emad Samir, and all its members, extends its sincerest congratulations to Dr. Amal Hassan Hussein, Lecturer in the Department of Sports Training and Movement Sciences and International Football Referee.

#On the occasion of her selection and participation as the first assistant referee within the Egyptian refereeing team that officiated the match between Ivory Coast and Senegal in the African qualifiers for the FIFA Women's World Cup, under the auspices of FIFA. She has also previously officiated in the CAF Champions League qualifiers in Tunisia and participated in the AFC Champions League qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates.

This achievement is a culmination of her efforts and distinguished career in refereeing, and a new addition to the series of honorable successes achieved by Egyptian female referees in continental and international arenas.

In this context, Professor Dr. Emad Samir, Dean of the Faculty, addressed the students, emphasizing that Dr. Amal Hassan's achievements serve as a model of perseverance and diligence. He encouraged all members of the faculty to continue striving for academic and professional excellence, aiming for further accomplishments that will elevate the reputation of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Assiut University across various fields.
