Professor Dr. Fatima Rushdi Mohamed, Dean of the College, and students of the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University participated in the flag salute and the national anthem, marking the start of the new academic year 2025/2026
Dr. El-Menshawy announced the launch of the new academic year 2025/2026.
Amidst a festive atmosphere, Dr. El-Menshawy stated: "Assiut University stands united behind the political leadership... and we announce our full support for the national leadership that has proven Egypt's ability to face challenges." In an atmosphere of hope and optimism, Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, joined university students this morning, Saturday, September 20th, in performing the flag salute and singing the national anthem, marking the start of the new academic year. The celebration for the 2025/2026 academic year took place in front of the university's administration building. Attendees included the university's vice presidents, secretary general, advisors to the president, deans of faculties, faculty members, university leaders, administrative staff, the student union, and hundreds of students who flocked to the campus.
The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Madiha Darwish, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and General Supervisor of Student Activities; and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the Student Welfare Department. The Public Relations and Media Department, the Student Welfare Department, the "Students for Egypt" family, and various university departments also participated.
The program included the playing of the national anthem, a recitation from the Holy Quran, speeches by Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, the university president, Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, and a student representative, as well as a short film showcasing the university's faculties, services, and activities. The ceremony was emceed by Mr. Mohamed Gomaa, Director of the Arts Department at the Student Welfare Department. Students.
In his address, Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy welcomed both new and returning students, expressing his delight at their participation in the celebration marking the start of the new academic year, which the university inaugurated with the raising of the flag. He emphasized that this was a moment of pride and loyalty to the nation, not merely a formal tradition.
The university president extended his congratulations to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to Lieutenant General Abdel-Magid Saqr, Minister of Defense and Military Production, to the Egyptian people, to the men of the Armed Forces and the Police, and to all members of the university community, on the anniversary of the glorious October 6th victories, which will forever stand as a testament to the strength of the Egyptian will.

Dr. Fatima Rushdi Muhammad, Dean of the College, followed up on the preparations of all departments, sectors of the College, and university administrations for the start of the new academic year 2025/2026, scheduled for next Sunday, September 21st. This is to ensure a smooth start to the academic year without any obstacles that might hinder students or disrupt the educational process. She noted that she had issued directives to all The departments and units are required to follow up on the maintenance and renovation work related to classrooms, lecture halls, facilities, the electrical and water systems, and other infrastructure. This will be achieved by utilizing all the college's human and financial resources to complete all preparations adequately. In light of these preparations, the Dean of the College received a report from the Vice Deans and the Secretary General of the College to assess the college's readiness to receive students for the academic year. The report highlighted the commitment of the college administration, including faculty members, their assistants, and staff, to maintaining constant communication with students, addressing any obstacles they may face or that could affect them during the educational process, and ensuring the timely publication of class schedules for all departments. The Council approved the following:
- The appointment of Dr. Hanan Abdel-Razek Abdel-Aal, Assistant Professor in the Department, to the rank of Professor in the Department, based on the decision of the Scientific Committee for Promotions to the Ranks of Professor and Associate Professor in Nursing, dated July 29, 2025. This decision stated that her submitted scientific output qualifies her for the rank of Professor in Medical-Surgical Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Assiut University.
- The appointment of Ms. Amal Hamdi Mahmoud, Assistant Lecturer in the Department, was appointed as a Lecturer.
The council also discussed various topics related to departmental councils and different sectors within the college. It reviewed recent development achievements and approved the secondments of faculty members, as well as the formation of the various units within the college.
