The vice dean for student affairs sent a letter to the heads of the departments to appoint  at least one observer (demonstrator or employee) for every 40 students to avoid the exhaustion of demonstrators, assistant lecturer and lecturers and to save money.

Dr. Gamal El-Din  Fahmy Mamdouh, Assistant Lecturer in faculty of engineering assiut university, won the encouraging prize for his contributions in the engineering fields for 2012. He uses function computational slides in image and signal compression and encryption. This new technique helps remove the noise from photos and improve its quality. Dr. Gamal El Din also uses some new mathematical functions to encrypt photos and videos using the watermark.

The social fund for development announces the provision of grants for training programs on entrepreneurship development in cooperation with "Intilaaqah" Egypt Program sponsored by Shell and the British Council in Cairo. These programs are intended to qualify the Egyptian youth for taking initiatives and establishing successful small enterprises and build the capacities of would-be entrepreneurs as well. Each training program will be held for free on 5 working days and include 40 credit hours (starting from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p. m.) for the Egyptian youth. The president of assiut university invited the dean of the faculty  and some member staff  about (8-10 members) to attend the european commission conference that will introduce the european union programs that aim to develop the higher education system and the scientific research during 2012-2020. The confeence will be held in the eighth hall in the administation buliding on wednesday 30-11-2013 at 10:00 pm.

The quality assurance and accreditation project offers training courses for the faculty staff and employees in quality assurance field. Any member staff who wishes to participate as a trainer in these courses should inform the unit with the title of his course or courses.
