Today, Monday, 2/10/2025, the seventy-third session for preparing the university teacher was opened, which is scheduled to be held from Monday, February 10 to Thursday, February 13, 2025, for faculty assistants and researchers, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Alim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and the vice deans and a group of faculty assistants and researchers from various faculties of the university.

 

 

 

The first annual exhibition of Capstone projects for students of the Bachelor of Science in Education "STEM" program at the College of Education

Dr. Al-Minshawy and Major General Dr. Hesham Abu Al-Nasr inaugurate the Capstone Projects Exhibition for Students of the Bachelor's Program in Science and Education STEM at Assiut University

- Dr. Al-Minshawy: The exhibition aims to showcase the creativity of outstanding students in developing science, technology and mathematics

Assiut University, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawy, President of the University, opened today, Monday, February 10, and in the presence of Major General Dr. Hesham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut; The first annual exhibition of Capstone projects for students of the Bachelor's Program in Science and Education "STEM" at the Faculty of Education under the supervision of; Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hassan Howail, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Muhammad Jaber Qasim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Marian Milad, Program Coordinator.

The exhibition included (28) projects; With the participation of (138) male and female students, whose topics varied; Between energy generation, solving the problem of traffic congestion, desertification, desalination of drinking water, climate change, health, and agriculture.

Dr. Al-Minshawy expressed his pride in the distinguished level presented by the students in their projects, noting that they are not only educational projects, but rather a true nucleus for scientific initiatives that serve the community and contribute to environmental, agricultural, and health development, in line with the strategic plan of Assiut University, the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Egypt's Vision 2030, which aims to achieve sustainable development and build aware and sustainable societies.

The President of Assiut University stressed that the university is committed to providing the appropriate environment to develop students' capabilities, talents, academic skills, and scientific innovation, in order to prepare an aware generation capable of keeping pace with the challenges of the future, noting that the Bachelor's Program in Science and Education STEM is one of the distinguished programs that contribute to developing the educational process by providing a unique educational experience that combines academic content, training, and application, so that the graduate becomes competitive and qualified for the labor market.

For his part, Major General Hesham Abu Al-Nasr expressed his He was very impressed by the student projects, stressing: The role of the university with its scientific and applied institutions; As a basic partner in the comprehensive development of the governorate, and a major contributor to achieving the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan, praising the role of the university in supporting important development and service projects; For the university students; Through its scientific capabilities, and the field research it conducts that contribute to advancing development rates in the governorate.

Dr. Hassan Howail pointed out that the students of the "STEM" program directed their projects towards; Preserving development, the environment, agriculture, and health, through the rational use of natural resources, relying on renewable energy, and recycling waste; To achieve sustainable development, explaining: Capstone projects for engineering design; Contribute to providing opportunities for students; To master the skills of information and communications technology, and their applications in education.

Dr. Mohamed Jaber added: The "STEM" program works to build creative capabilities to solve problems in the fields of; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and also works to develop the knowledge and skill set that young people need to face future challenges, and participate effectively in shaping a sustainable future, noting: This academic year 2024-2025; is about to graduate the first distinguished batch of the "STEM" program.

For her part, Dr. Marian Milad announced the winning of the best five projects, which are: the "Wave energy" project from concept to reliability, the "The "glory stairs of avengers" project, which aims to generate energy from renewable sources, the "kidney+app" project; to treat one of the health care problems, specifically kidney failure, the "Vertical agriculture" project; to solve agricultural problems, specifically the shortage of agricultural area, and the "Parkn Bridge" project; to solve the problem of traffic congestion, and each project received a financial amount of (one thousand pounds).

The opening of the exhibition was attended by; Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Alim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Khaled Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Mohamed Helmy El-Hafnawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Amani Sherif, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Shawkat Saber, Secretary General of the University, Dr. Rehab El-Dakhili, Media Advisor to the President of the University, in addition to a group of department heads, faculty members, assistant staff, a crowd of media professionals, and university students.

It is worth noting that the exhibition included (28) projects, including: the "kidney+app" project; to treat one of the health care problems, specifically kidney failure, the "Smart irrigation system" project, and the "E-irrigation" project; which aims to solve the problem of traditional irrigation.

In addition to a large number of agricultural and environmental projects such as: the "Vertical agriculture" project; to solve agricultural problems specifically: the shortage of agricultural area, and the "from "Plastic to Path" project; To recycle waste such as plastic, the "Sustainable farm" project; to generate energy from renewable sources, and exploit it in the full operation of the farm, the "Lift bridge" project, the "M.O.R.G bridge (bascule bridge from palm wood) project, the "Parkn bridge" project; to solve the problem of traffic congestion, the "Life line" project; to purify pollutants in the air, the "LED For Groundwater Extraction" project; which aims to reclaim desert areas by providing water and electricity, in addition to the Buckthron leaves for "purification" project, the "Red magic water filter" project, the "Sugar can fiber filter" project, the "Natural boosting local banana" project, and the "Capillary property for water purification" project; to purify water using natural materials.
