President of Assiut University Is Back From Malaysia

During his visit to Malaysia, Dr Mostafa M. Kamal signed two agreements: one for cooperation through which Malaysian students pursue their studies at Assiut University, the second provides opportunities for Malaysian investment Assiut Governorate. Dr. Mostafa M. Kamal, President of Assiut University has recently arrived from Malaysia after a short visit within the scientific and cooperation exchange protocol between Assiut University and the Institute for Quran Sciences, Malaysia. Dr Kamal indicated that the visit was basically to pursue what has been achieved between the University and the Malaysian side; being endorsed by the University's hosting a number of 19 Malaysian students who are currently enrolled as students at the Faculty of Dentistry this year. Dr Kamal added that his meetings and discussions with Malaysian officials were very positive since they reached an agreement through which 45 more Malaysian students will be joining the Faculty of Dentistry next December. Dr Kamal also added that they agreed to widen the scope of scientific disciplines and programs for Malaysian students so that they can join Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy in the near future. Besides, the discussions came up with a similar agreement allowing up to 600 Malaysian students from different Malaysian educational institutions to come to the university for durations extending from three to six months to study Arabic and Islamic Studies. Furthermore, two more agreements were signed by the president and the International Islamic University, Malaysia, and the University for Administration and Science. The president assured that his visit included meetings with some investors to encourage them to consider the prospectus investment opportunities in Assiut Governorate. For this purpose, and out of the University's role as partner in its community development, Dr. Kamal has already arranged for a visit to be paid by the Malaysian side to the Governorate to study the possibility of cooperation between Assiut Governorate and Kuala Lumpur Province.

Talent and Professionalism in Sports Assiut University

Under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Mosaad, Minister of Higher Education, Mr. Amri Farouk, Minister of Sports, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dr. Yahya Taha Qishk, Governor of Assiut, Dr. Mostafa M. Kamal, President of Assiut University, Faculty of Physical Education, has organized an International Scientific Conference on "Talent and Professionalism in the Field of Sports," as a part of the proceedings of the Conference for Sports Creativity in the Sector of Physical Education, affiliated to the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities and the Prize of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.  Creative Sports The conference aims at following the recent developments in the various fields and science related to sports.   It also aims at reaching an advanced level of knowledge, acquiring values, and spreading the culture of talent and professionalism.  The conference was attended by many participants from Faculties of Education in Egyptian Universities, Arab Emirates, and foreign countries.

Dr. Mohamed Morsi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt at Assiut University

Assiut University was honored by hosting Dr. Mohamed Morsi, President of the Republic, who gave a speech in a public meeting at the University's Conference Centre. In his speech, the President asserted that there would be no place for corruption in Egypt and asked those who achieved wealth throughout the corrupted era of the past regime, to repent and purify themselves. The President said: The State opened an account for the Renaissance of Egypt at the Central Bank, and those can now deposit people's money through this account. Nevertheless, the President confirmed that the state would never violate valid contracts with the investors, but those who have violated the contracting terms must give rights back to the state.

"Bio-Safety in Molecular Biology and its Levels" Workshop at Assiut University

Under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Mohamed Kamal, Assiut University President, and Dr. Ahmed Abdu Gaeis, Vice- President for Graduate Studies and Research, the Molecular Biology Research Unit (MBRU), Assiut University held a workshop entitled: "Bio-Safety in Molecular Biology Labs at Various Levels" For two days, the workshop introduced detailed explanations of bio-safety standards in laboratories and methods of dealing with the diagnostic substances, their dangers, secure disposal methods, insuring laboratories' safety against risk as well as protecting humans against infection. Dr. Asmaa Abdel Nasser, (MBRU) Director said that the workshop was attended by a number of participants from the faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Science, Animal Health Research Institute and Palm Center, New Valley.

"Constitutional Issues of Communal Concern" Assiut University Colloquium

Under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Mohamed Kamal, President of Assiut University, Dr. Yehiya Taha Qishk, Governor of Assiut, and Dr. Mohamed Saad Khalifa, Dean Faculty of Law, the University held a colloquium on the "Constitutional Issues of Communal Concern." This activity springs out of the University's interest in developing communal awareness of the importance of the constitution as a societal contract, in addition to encouraging all social spectra to participate in formulating their precepts of the constitutional articles, aiming to come up with a constitution that expresses and cares for the entire Egyptian people with its entire social gamut. The discussions included a number of the constitutional articles concerning issues such as: free education complying to quality standards, people with special needs and the State responsibility to sponsor them, the constitutional articles granting the Central Auditing Organization (CAO) the right of full vigilance on the expenditures of the Presidency, besides activating the roles of other vigilance bodies such as the (CAO), General Department of Public Fund, and Administrative Control. The colloquium was attended by Dr. Emad Hussein Counselor of the President of the Republic, Chancellor Edward Ghali, Rev. Safwat Al-Bayaadi, and Dr. Mohamed El-Beltagy, members of the founding committee for preparing the constitution draft.

At competition entitled “Egypt after the revolution “

Youth Welfare Administration of faculty of specific Education announces that the activity for academic year 2012/2013 will start, there for an art competition entitled “Egypt after the revolution “and its outlook in the following areas: First: painting: 1.            Artistic works should be offered using Kanson paper 70*50. 2.             You can use more than one material such as Pencil, Coal or ink. 3.            Students may offer two works at maximum. Second: Caricature: 1.            Artistic works should be offered 70*35. 2.            Pen or Jawash colors should be used. Assiut University Medical Conference Prides Over the Distinction of the Medical Service Provided to Upper Egyptian Patients of Chest Diseases

Assiut University inaugurated the proceedings of the Seventh Annual Conference on Chest Diseases entitled as "The Treatment of Critical Cases of the Respiratory System" to last until March 21. The conference was organized by the Chest Department, Faculty of Medicine under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, University President. The event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Hospitals, Dr. Suzan Salama, Chair, Chest Department, Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Khaled Hussein, Professor of Chest Diseases and Conference Chairman, and a number of Professors and Faculty members from Universities of Ain Shams, Minia, Aswan, Cairo, Alexandria, Zagazig, Mansoura, Menoufia. Besides, attendance included a number of Physicians from hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health and the Medical Insurance Authority.
