The session will be titled:

A Promiscuous Path to Novel Guanidines: Arginine- Modifying Enzymes as Key Synthetic Players

The session will be held in the meeting room of the Department of Pharmacognosy at 10:00 AM.

The Youth Welfare Administration at the Faculty of Pharmacy organized the Ideal Student Competition for the academic year 2025/2026, in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Safwat Mohamed, Head of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and a member of the Judging Committee; Dr. Sahar Badr Hassan, Acting Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and a member of the Judging Committee; Dr. Nermeen El-Sayed El-Iraqi, Acting Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and a member of the Judging Committee; Dr. Shaimaa Ali Abdel-Zaher, Director of the Youth Welfare Administration; and Mr. Mohamed Makhlouf Ali, Student Activities Officer.

The participating students gave individual presentations, and the following students were selected:

The Postgraduate Diploma students (Clinical Pharmacy) presented posters for their research project course, with each group displaying and discussing their work in the presence of the academic supervisors overseeing the projects.

An introductory lecture was organized for postgraduate students to present the regulations governing postgraduate studies and the principles of research ethics.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Tehani Hassan El-Fahham, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Rapporteur of the Research Ethics Committee at the Faculty; Prof. Dina Fathallah Mohamed, Professor of Pharmaceutics and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Yasser Ghallab Gouda, Professor of Pharmacognosy and Coordinator of the Clinical Pharmacy Program.

The session was attended by faculty members, teaching assistants, and postgraduate students from all departments of the Faculty.

The event aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Faculty’s postgraduate programs and research ethics guidelines.

The lecture was held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Faculty Celebration Hall.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshaoui, President of Assiut University, Prof. Dr. Mansour Kabash, President of Sphinx University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Sheiha - Vice President of Sphinx University, a discussion was held at the office of Prof. Gihan Nabil Hassan Fetih- Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University, on the terms of a joint protocol for training pharmacists who graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Sphinx University, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University, within the framework of the compulsory training year (internship). The meeting was attended by Prof. Mahmoud Mohamed Sheiha, Vice President of Sphinx University, Prof. Alaa Arafat Hayallah, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Sphinx University, and Prof. Hassan Refaat Hassan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Education and Student Affairs, Assiut University.

This cooperation stems from the role entrusted to the Faculty of Pharmacy at Assiut University, the oldest faculty in Upper Egypt, in serving the surrounding community and in light of the approval of the Higher Training Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities for the Faculty of Pharmacy at Assiut University, among four faculties nationwide, to offer elective courses to graduates of other faculties of pharmacy.

The lecture and practical training were delivered by Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Hakam Younes, Lecturer at the Department of Crops, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University.

The workshop was held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 22–23, 2025, at the Faculty’s Technology Services Unit laboratories.

The periodic and practical-theoretical exam for the course Medicinal Chemistry (1) for third-year Pharm D students will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Hall (B) – Electronic Examinations Center.
