57357 Hospital Signs 11 Cooperation Protocols for Nursing Training

Children's Cancer Hospital 57357 signed cooperation protocols with 11 nursing colleges from 10 Egyptian universities. The aim is to train and prepare new graduates for the job market, reaffirming the hospital's vision that nursing is a fundamental link in the completion of healthcare and its commitment to providing high-level training programs to develop distinguished nursing staff.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Moataz El-Zemity, Medical Director of Hospital 57357, and the deans of nursing colleges from Mansoura, Helwan, Menoufia, Assiut, Beni Suef, South Valley, Damanhour, 6th of October, the British University in Egypt, Modern University for Technology and Maritime Transport, and Misr University.

Dr. El-Zemity stated... Sherif Abul-Naga, CEO of Group 57357 and General Manager of the hospital, said that the training enhances the practical capabilities of students and qualifies them to gain field experience in dealing with critical cases and caring for cancer patients, in line with global standards in medical and nursing education. It is an investment in nursing staff, as they are the backbone of the health system. Therefore, the training focuses on the latest nursing care protocols, to prepare a new generation of highly competent nurses, capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in medical and healthcare sciences.
Dr. Sahar Moussa, Director of Nursing at Hospital 57357, confirmed that the protocols stipulate the training of groups of nursing graduates at the hospital. Each college nominates a number of its graduates to complete their internship year at 57357. Trainees are selected by a specialized committee from the hospital and distributed across different departments, where they undergo practical training and hands-on experience under the supervision of the nursing staff at 57357. The program includes a monthly evaluation for each student, with continuous monitoring from their respective college deans.

Dr. Samah Alawi, Head of the Continuing Education and Training Department in the Nursing Division at Hospital 57357, stated that an average of 20 students are selected from each college. This training program aims to prepare ambassadors for the hospital, capable of transferring the expertise and skills they have acquired to other hospitals and health centers after graduation, thus contributing to raising the level of healthcare throughout the country.

Dr. Maha Adel Salem, Dean of Nursing at the British University in Egypt, stated that the university has been signing this protocol annually with Hospital 57357 for the past three years. This agreement focuses on the quality and qualifications of its graduates, ensuring that their training adheres to all international standards for nursing services at the hospital, maintaining the highest level of patient safety and security. This is particularly important within a stimulating educational and healthcare environment like Hospital 57357, where graduates develop the ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive team. They learn the principles and practices that align with the Egyptian-British nursing model, guaranteeing the continuity of their work after graduation, maintaining the same nursing care style and possessing exceptional skills.

The hospital also provides graduates with training in scientific research methodologies, patient data recording, and treatment monitoring using advanced technology and precise electronic methods. Furthermore, university students receive a dual degree from the British University in Egypt and Queen Margaret University in the UK.

Dr. Wafaa Abdel-Azim, Dean of Nursing at Misr University for Science and Technology, affirmed that the university sought to establish a cooperation protocol with Hospital 57357 to train its students. This was due to the hospital's robust operational system and outstanding training facilities and logistics, which assures the university of the future skills, technical expertise, and practical training of its students. This, in turn, will positively impact the quality of their work, ultimately benefiting patients and the healthcare system as a whole.

She pointed out that patient safety and rapid recovery are goals the college strives for. Therefore, the university instills in its students the fundamentals and traditions of the profession. This is achieved through the meticulous application of treatment programs and protocols, all of which are already implemented at Hospital 57357 and have received accreditation from the Health Accreditation and Regulation Authority and the International Accreditation Authority. This signifies the excellence of these programs, which contribute to providing world-class medical services.

Dr. Fatima Rushdi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University, stated that while Assiut University has a large number of university hospitals where students receive their training, the university sought to establish a cooperation protocol with Hospital 57357 as part of its community engagement initiatives. This aims to provide students with more specialized skills in nursing care for children with cancer, and to enhance their ability to communicate effectively with diverse community groups from all regions of Egypt, in addition to interacting with medical and healthcare teams possessing varying skills and experiences.

She pointed out that this training develops students' practical and theoretical knowledge, as they become partners in the treatment journey alongside the rest of the healthcare team. Students nominated from the Faculty of Nursing for their internship at Hospital 57357 undergo personal interviews and are selected based on their highest academic standing, communication skills, and acquired abilities. They then pass a further test at the hospital to confirm their excellence and their eagerness to learn.

Relationship between dominant decision-making style and creativity of nursing managers: A cross-sectional study

Research Abstract

Objective

This study aims to investigate the connection between dominant decision-making style and creativity among nursing managers.

Background

The dominant style of decision-making nursing managers use definitely affects the quality of decisions. Also, in another way, it can develop a skill of creative thinking that may influence the entire health care system.

Methods

Data from 229 nursing managers in four university hospitals were gathered using a cross-sectional study methodology and questionnaires about general decision-making styles and managerial creativity.

Results

nursing managers are highly creative. In general, the dominant decision-making style is rational and is correlated positively with creativity. Dependent style is the second one, while it is correlated negatively and significantly with creativity. Intuitive style is the third one and correlated negatively but is insignificant with creativity. Regression analysis revealed that only three styles have an effect on creativity: rational (positive), dependent (negative), and avoidant (negative), respectively.

Conclusion

The most dominant style is rational, which has the highest effect, which is positive on creativity. The dependent is the second dominant style and has a negative effect. Whereas intuitive is the third dominant style and did not have any effect on creativity.
