The College of Computers and Information was honored by the visit of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

It will be held for the month of December 2023, in the presence of members of the Council for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem confirmed: The sector was keen to play its assigned role in serving its surrounding community. By increasing the space for activities and events that can advance and develop society, in addition to maximizing the benefit from awareness-raising activities and seminars in various fields, pointing to the importance of spreading awareness of the sustainable development goals and disseminating sustainable practices within the university campus. In pursuit of achieving the national strategy and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The report indicated a follow-up of what has been implemented to study the current situation of the community service and environmental development sector using SWOT analysis to prepare the strategic plan, discuss activating the role of the Civil Protection Unit, and the unit for filling and maintaining fire-fighting means at the university, and follow-up the Ministry of the Environment’s plan to implement the second phase of the competition. “Our health is the health of our planet,” where a committee was formed to develop mechanisms for implementation, announcing a competition among university students, and discussing the report of the “Best Environmentally Friendly University” competition and possible amendments to the conditions of the competition.
The Council also agreed to develop an action plan to integrate the region in the field of community service and environmental development, activate anti-smoking mechanisms, study the results of the Indonesian classification (2023), and complete the proposal submitted to establish a unit to combat stimulants and prohibited nutritional supplements at Assiut University.
The Council reviewed the launch of the website for the activities and reports of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, submitted by the university’s colleges and institutes, at the Information Systems Center at the College of Computers and Information.
The Council stressed the importance of digital transformation in managing digital data and information for the sector, and to bring about a qualitative shift in it, to achieve sustainable development goals in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdel Hamid, Dean of the College of Computers and Information and Head of the Committee supervising the implementation of the site, indicated that the site was designed within three months to be the first digital transformation in the community service and environmental development affairs sector at the university.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Hamad, Vice Dean of the College of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and member of the committee supervising implementation, explained that the site was designed to serve the deputies in their colleges to submit committee reports, as well as seminars, training courses, and convoys of various kinds.
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Rahman, an assistant lecturer at the College of Computers and Information, gave an explanation of how to log in to the site, deal with its services, and the mechanism for submitting reports and various activities. Some modifications were discussed, so that the site will be in use from next month.

Assiut University witnesses the launch of the Devfest'23 technical conference
Dr. Al-Minshawy: The conference is an excellent opportunity to introduce students and graduates to the latest technological technologies
Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, the activities of the Devfest'23 technical conference, organized by the Google Developers Group Assiut (GDG Assiut), were launched today, Wednesday, December 20th. With the participation of Assiut University; For the second year in a row, in Dr. Mohamed Raafat Mahmoud Hall, in the university’s administrative building.
The conference was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawli, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdel Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, with the participation and presence of Dr. Maged Ghanima, Director of the Corporate and Marketing Sector at the Fund for the Care of Innovators and Geniuses and Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Professor Mustafa Kamel, Director of the National Bank in Assiut. Brigadier General Engineer Mohamed Nasr of Wahat Silicon Company, and Engineer Ayman Ayyad, Dean of the ITI Institute, in addition to an elite group of technicians and developers in the new technological fields, activities extending over two days, the 20th and 21st of December.
In this context, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed Assiut University’s keenness to provide distinguished training opportunities. For university students and graduates; To introduce them to the latest technologies in the current era, and to organize events that include an elite group of technicians, developers, and experts. In the fields of artificial intelligence, digital technology, and entrepreneurship, creating an environment for learning, growth, and knowledge; Praising the great success achieved by the first edition of the conference at Assiut University Devfest'22, which demonstrated the university's distinguished scientific cadres, capable of keeping pace with modern technological technologies at the world level.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla emphasized the university’s special interest in the digital and technological revolution, and its keenness to harness all its scientific and human capabilities. In order to enhance the capabilities of young people, develop their technological skills, and discover and nurture distinguished talents; In order to enhance the efforts of the Egyptian state aimed at achieving digital transformation, and creating an advanced environment based on science and knowledge; To achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030 and advance sustainable development.
In his speech, Professor Mostafa Kamel praised Assiut University’s cooperation with the National Bank, one of the Egyptian institutions. To increase training opportunities, support areas of entrepreneurship, and increase interest in software fields, adding that Assiut University is the main center in Upper Egypt. To spread technological awareness and support youth projects in this field.
Dean Engineer Mohamed Nasr praised the pioneering role of Assiut University. To disseminate technology and introduce university youth to the latest technologies in this field, by providing a competitive environment with companies and businessmen; To reach talented youth, and invest in those talents; To increase job opportunities inside and outside Egypt.
Engineer Ayman Ayyad also pointed out the university administration’s support for the ITI Institute since its establishment in 2007 and the training of 100 trainees until the number reached 4,000 trainees for the year 2023, pointing to the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Egyptian Ministry of Communications.
Dr. Tayseer Hassan, Dean of the College of Computers and Information, indicated that the activities of the first day of the conference included several scientific sessions in which about (11) speakers in various technological fields lectured. The activities also included 8 workshops on; Mobile Development, AI, cybersecurity, and Business; This is in addition to an exhibition for local and international companies, in addition to providing a number of grants and financing opportunities for emerging companies.
The Dean of the College of Computers and Information added that the second day; Includes a competition on innovation and excellence DevHack; It is a competition in which developers compete for 24 hours. To solve a problem in society; Using modern Google technology, the competition offers financial prizes amounting to (15 thousand pounds) to the winners of the first three places.
