We offer access to a vivacious array of English literature and ideas, where we ask students to embrace new ways of thinking about the world and new possibilities of expression.

Generally, literature refers to different types of books, including novels, non-fiction, poetry, and plays, among other forms. However, literature is a contested term, as new mediums for communication provide different types of contemporary literature.

By studying a degree of English Literature, you will learn how to analyze a multitude of texts and write clearly using several different styles.

To have effective communication with other people, you need first to understand their language. In this department, we aim to develop a perfect comprehensive familiarity with the French language.

For the French people, French literature is a national pride for centuries, and it has been one of the most influential components of the literature of Europe. Hence, to enforce relations between Egypt and France and to gain a deep understanding of their culture and the way they think we are delivering a sophisticated program understand of French literature.

We have a unique academic program that focuses on delivering courses that simulate modern and contemporary developments in the French language with its literature, to qualify our students to work in different fields like media institutions and translations.

Overview

Arabic language is part of our identity, so we consider promoting and preserving it as one of our duties toward our Arab world. 

Arabic language and literature department is one of the specialized academic departments in the faculty of Arts in Assiut University. Our role is to promote academic research and develop essential skills in the fields of Arabic literature in different areas; comparative literature, Andalusian literature, Syntax and etymology, and other linguistic sciences such as Eloquence and Islamic sciences “Tafsir and Hadith”, which will help our graduates play an influential role in serving our mother tongue and mitigate globalization negative effects on the Arabic language.
