Our university has a role in detection and Monitoring of Alien Species (invasive species). The faculty of agriculture at the Assiut university monitors and activates the monitoring methods with the university. Researchers’ efforts to manage the red palm weevil, that considered the most destructive pest for date palms. Furthermore, Fall Armyworm which damage and destroy a wide variety of crops and lead to large economic damage.

The faculty of agriculture collaborates with governmental agencies like Pesticides Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and presented training for pesticides users
