Overview

Engineering Division Objectives

The Engineering division contributes to the faculty's achievement of its strategic objectives as:

  • Conducting research that develops knowledge and provides technological and engineering solutions to sugar industry production problems, thus contributing to the development of the sugar industry and integrated industries.
  • Carrying out study program in the field of sugar manufacturing technology and related sciences for graduate students, as well as for the bachelor’s degree in the faculty, which contributes to graduating students at a distinguished level in the field of sugar industry and integrative industries
  • Providing a distinguished postgraduate program in the field of sugar production technology and integrated industries, which contributes to enriching and raising the technical and engineering level and providing the human staff needed for the needs of the Egyptian, Arab and African industries.
  • Cooperating with international and local research bodies to exchange engineering, technological and research knowledge to advance the technology of sugar production and integrative industries.
  • Providing expertise and technical support, whether in the form of research or education, to those interested and those in charge of sugar factories and companies in Egypt, the Arab world and Africa.
  • Work to attract research projects to solve the engineering and technological problems of the sugar industry and the integrative industries.
  • Training of engineers as well as Arab and African students in the applied fields of science and technology of the sugar industry and integrative industries.
  • Contribution in scientific publishing and international & local scientific conferences.

Chemistry Section

Science and Technology of the Sugar Industry-Chemistry Section
Overview

The Chemistry division contributes to the Institute's achievement of its strategic objectives as:

  1. Implementation of the study program in the field of chemistry to achieve the goal of graduating students at a privileged level in the sugar industry and the integrative industries.
  2. To contribute to provide postgraduate programs in various professional technological disciplines aimed at providing the necessary manpower for the needs of the industry.
  3. To conduct research that develops knowledge and provides solutions of problems in the sugar industry, integrative Industries and environmental studies.

Science and Technology of the Sugar Industry- Agriculture Section
Overview
  1. Conduct research that develops knowledge and provides solutions to the problems in the field ofsugar crop science and related disciplines, thus contributing to the development of the sugar and integrative industries.
  2. Implementation of the scientific program in the field of sugar crops science and related disciplinesto graduate undergraduates and postgraduates at a distinguished level in the sugar and integrative industries.
  3. Provide a distinguished postgraduate scientific program in the field of sugar crop science to enrich and supply human resources required for the Egyptian, Arab and African sugar and integrative industries.
  4. Collaboration with international and local research organization to exchange scientific knowledge forimproving the productivity of sugar crops.
  5. Provide expertise and technical support to those interested in cultivation and production of sugar crops from farmers and sugar companies in Egypt, the Arab world and Africa.
  6. Training agricultural engineers as well as Arab and African students in applied fields of sugar crops science.
  7. Participation in scientific publishing as well as international and local scientific conferences.

Congratulation to establish the B. Sc program

Congratulation: Sugar Technology Research Institute, Assiut University, has got the final acceptance of supreme council of Universities on Saturday 01/12/2012 to establish the B. Sc program "Science and Technology of Sugar Industry and Integrated Industries" which funded by the European Union.
