Geoscientists gather and interpret data about the earth and other planets; they use their knowledge to increase our understanding of the earth processes and to improve the quality of human life. Their work and career paths vary widely because the Geosciences are so broad and diverse.
“Mathematics is the queen of sciences” –As said by Carl Friedrich Gauss, the German Mathematician.
Students with a Mathematics degrees are highly demanded in a variety of industries because employers know that Math scholars use mathematical theory, computational techniques, algorithms, and the latest computer technology to solve economic, scientific, engineering, physics, and business problems and this requires strong problem solving abilities and outstanding analytical skills which make the mathematical major very remarkable.

Our main goal is to understand the natural world.
Discoveries in physics have formed the foundation of countless technological advances and play an important role in many scientific areas which make it one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines.
Students enjoy studying physics since it is all about natural science that studies motion and behavior through space and time and the related entities of energy and force.
The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Assiut University, is one of the oldest scientific departments in the university. The department has witnessed a great development since its establishment in 1957 with the establishment of the university. Among the 129 faculty members and their assistants, there are 65 professors and 16 assistant professors and 14 teachers, whose research activities cover a wide range of different disciplines in chemistry. Moreover, based on the adoption by the University of Assiut of the one-department system, the department of Chemistry teaches chemistry courses with different specializations for the four-year students in the faculties of Science and Education, as well as the first-year students in the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and students of the preparatory teams of Pharmacy and Engineering.
The mission of the Department of Chemistry stems from the mission of the Faculty of Science, Assiut University, as it aims to prepare graduates in various chemistry majors according to academic standards that meet the needs of industry and the service sector. The department is keen to ensure that the graduates are fully aware of the ethics of the profession and the requirements of environmental protection. The department offers postgraduate programs (Diploma - Master's -PhD) to prepare generations of researchers in universities and research and industry centers to meet the challenges resulting from rapid scientific developments.
The Department of Chemistry seeks to update and develop academic programs and curriculum, and to update teaching methods and methods of student evaluation so that graduates can compete in the job market. The department also includes future plans within its strategy in the field of research in order to enhance the society.
We are a highly productive, research-oriented department with a strong focus on biodiversity, evolutionary Biology, systematics and the classical disciplines of physiology, behavior and Ecology. Zoology is the study of animals; therefore, zoologists study how animals evolved, their behavior, physiology and ecological interactions, and how to conserve populations in the face of global change.
However, Entomology is the study of insects which is an interdisciplinary life science that contributes to our understanding of our environment, and the well-being of our society.
Now, At AUN we have developed strong entomological programs and traditions in teaching, outreach, and research. Our Prospective students will find information about our educational programs, curriculum, and research opportunities.
We play an essential role in solving the environmental problems and in community services through cooperating with other scientific faculties and organizations through preparing a distinguished generation of scientists for the scientific, educational and industrial fields.
