Glass transition and crystallization kinetic studies in Mg0. 10As0. 34Se0. 56 chalcogenide glass by using non-isothermal techniques.

ملخص البحث

Results of differential scanning calorimetric studies on the Mg0.10As0.34Se0.56 chalcogenide glass are reported. The heating rate dependence of the glass transition temperature (Tg), the crystallization onset temperature (Tc) and the crystallization peak temperature (Tp) were studied. These parameters were utilized in the determination of the activation energy of the glass transition (Eg), the activation energy of crystallization (Ec), the Avrami exponent (n) and the frequency factor K0Eg was determined from the variation of Tg with the heating rate β and its average value <Eg>=197±5 kJ/mol. Ec was determined using several methods; it gives the average value <Ec>=116±16 kJ/mol. The present investigation indicates that both the glass transition and the crystallization processes occur in a single stage, since the thermograms exhibit a unique value for both Tg and Tp. The crystallization mechanisms for the Mg0.10 …
