Internal medicine or general internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists, or physicians in Commonwealth nations.

We do our best to generate outstanding doctors in the field of vascular medicine and surgery to contribute to scientific research and develop the service provided to patients in Upper Egypt.

Department objectives:

  1. Developing and diversifying educational resources to produce distinguished students.
  2. Focusing on postgraduate studies program for master's and doctoral students, in order to raise the level of vascular surgery doctors inside and outside the university.
  3. Developing an operational plan consistently to develop the department's ability to cover the increasing numbers of patients as well as to improve the service.

Mission

The Department of Medical Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine at Assiut University, is committed to teaching the principles of optimal use of drugs and proper treatment methods, which makes them competent doctors able to practice medical practice. The department also pledges to contribute to advancing scientific research in the field of medicine and providing community services such as therapeutic drug measurements for patients and the detection of narcotic drugs.

Objectives

  1. Achieving academic accreditation standards for medical pharmacology programs for undergraduate and graduate students offered by the college and continuing to provide distinguished educational programs.
  2. Providing distinguished educational programs that bring the highest levels of students and achieve high-level of learning outcomes and provide a leadership model at the local and regional levels.
  3. Continuous development of distinguished cadres of the faculty members through an academic environment that encourages production and creativity.
  4. Continuous development of the scientific research system in the fields of basic and clinical medical sciences.
  5. Continuous development of the community college services, especially medical services provided by the university hospitals and its specialized centers.
