Department’s Mission

Department of Multi-Media at faculty of Computers and Information, Assiut University, was founded according to the registration number (498) in 25\2\2012, to prepare graduates and provide them with bases of scientific knowledge specialized in the field of Multi-Media. The department is working on using available abilities to solve community problems, which is done through providing special education programs in different fields of Multi-Media and its scientific and applicable projects that are following global guidelines, quality and positive interaction of department’s role in environment services and community development.

Department of Multi-Media is seeking to supply elements of education continuous development in field of Multi-Media, as to be in pace with scientific and technological development, to enhance university’s performance, to help department graduates to reach level of excellence and competing, to do researches and special scientific studies and to greaten department’s role in environment services and community development

Information Technology department aims to achieve the following purposes:

• Generating experts in Information Technology and management of data by qualifying them with theoretical assets and applications to prepare them for global competition in the development of computer technology and information.
• Conducting studies as well as scientific and applied research in the field of Information Technology that have a direct impact on social development.
• Providing scientific and technical advice and assistance to institutions and agencies that use the techniques of Information Technology and components concerned with the technology.
• Organizing seminars and holding scientific conferences to upgrade the scientific level among the specialized cadres.
• Concluding scientific agreements with the corresponding bodies and institutions at the local, regional and global levels with the aim of experiences exchange and conducting research related to computer specialties.
•  Proposing to create units of a special nature for specialized and advanced research in the field of computers
• Awarding an applied computer science Diploma for students from different faculties to raise the number of graduates who can respond to the current need in the labor market.
• Participating with specialized agencies for the development and Arabization of computer software.

In order to generate high performing expertise in this field, we follow these steps:

1. Provide scientific and technical advice and assistance to the institutions and agencies that use computer technologies.
2. Award an applied computer science Diploma for students from different faculties to raise the number of graduates who can respond to the current need in the labor market.
3. Raise awareness about computer technologies in the country's sectors and institutions and raising the efficiency of their use through specialized professional training courses.
4. Participate with specialized agencies for the development and Arabization of computer software.
5. Organize seminars and holding scientific conferences to upgrade the scientific level among the specialized cadres.
6. Conclude scientific agreements with the corresponding bodies and institutions at the local, regional and global levels with the aim of experiences exchange and conducting research related to computer specialties.
