The Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) has stimulated the Egyptian scientific society by funding distinguished papers with 100,000 L.E. to cover the following fileds:1- Buying research equipments.2- Fees for using outside labs (e.g electronic microscope)3-Bonus for the research team up to 20% of the grant.4-Trips inside egypt.5-National conferences. 6- Patents registeration7- Fees for national and international publishing

New Decisions from The German Language Learning Center
The German Language Learning Center in assiut university decided that assistant lecturers will not be allowed to travel to study abroad or take exams outside assiut as the center is offering the same levels and the same terms of conditions to travel to German Speaking Countries.
The faculty club will hold 4 group breakfast in ramadan on every Sunday for 200 member in each breakfast. Registration will open on sunday 15-6-2014 and will close on Sunday 22-6-2014 or until all the places get full.

Relaunching The Association of Arab Universities Prize for Basic Sciences and Engineering Field
The Association of Arab Universities relaunched the prize for basic sciences and engineering for three months from May till the end of July 2014. This prize was formely withheld over lack of suitable candidates.
Terms of Conditions of The Association of Arab Universities to Nominate for The arab Distinguished Researcher Prize
Terms of Conditions:
1- The candidate must be arab and works for an arabic university for at least five years.
2-The age of the candidate must not exceed 50 years old.
3-Four copies of the research paper must be delivered.
4-The candidate must send the approval of his university or his institution.
5- Research papers can be accepted in Arabic, English, or French.
6-All the required documents must be sent at once and any other papers will not be accepted.

Training Workshop on Preparing R&D Proposal and Technopreneurship for CIS Countries 3-17 October 2014
A total of 35 participants will be selected to attend the training workshop. About 20 participants will be from developing countries, ISESCO member countries, IDB member countries and CIS countries and 15 participants will be from Kazakhstan. The combination of participants from developing countries, ISESCO member countries, IDB member countries, CIS countries and Kazakhstan will allow for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences as well as opportunities for discussions, networking and possible collaboration.Participants are required to seek travel grant from their organizations to pay their travel expenses to Astana, Kazakhstan. Limited travel grant from organizer is available for participants who are really in difficulties in getting travel grant from their organization which is to be based on merit and need on case by case consideration.The five-day workshop will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 13 to 17 October 2014
