Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University, the Faculty of Arts Council at Assiut University held its regular session today, chaired by Professor Dr. Magdy Allwan, Dean of the Faculty, with the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abu Rehab, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Sameh Fikry, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor Dr. Hamed Mashhoor, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, as well as council members including heads of academic departments and faculty members at the Professor Dr. Ezzat Abdullah Hall in the faculty.  

During his opening speech, His Excellency the Dean, Dr. Magdy Allwan, extended his highest congratulations to the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Assiut University family, chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, on the occasion of the New Year, praying to God Almighty to bless its days with goodness, peace, and prosperity for our beloved Egypt.  

His Excellency also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Faculty of Arts family, including faculty members, students, and staff, wishing them a Merry Christmas, emphasizing that this joyful occasion represents a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the values of tolerance, love, and national unity that unite the children of one nation, regardless of their religious or cultural backgrounds. The council discussed during the session a number of important topics related to academic and administrative matters within the college, where the minutes of the previous session were approved, and the latest updates on the progress of the final exams for the first semester were reviewed, with an emphasis on applying the highest standards of quality and integrity in all stages of assessment. The meeting also addressed several topics related to the Education and Student Affairs sector, which contribute to easing the educational process on a regular basis, as well as reviewing the most important topics related to the Postgraduate Studies and Research sector regarding the approvals of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee for awarding master's and doctoral degrees to a number of researchers, and proposals for forming committees for evaluating and discussing several scientific theses for master's and doctoral degrees, as well as registration in the same degrees in the college's departments.

Dr. Magdy Alwan emphasized during the council the importance of strengthening cooperation between the various academic departments within the college and activating community partnerships that serve the surrounding environment. He also expressed his gratitude to all faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff for their continuous efforts to elevate the level of academic and administrative performance within the college, calling on them to continue working with a team spirit to achieve the objectives of the college's strategic plan.
