Assiut University announces the opening of the nomination for the King Salman Award for Disability Research and invites faculty members to participate

Assiut University has announced the opening of the nomination for the King Salman Award for disability research, as part of its support for scientific research and encouraging researchers to participate in international scientific awards with a societal impact.

This came in light of what was received to the University from the Supreme Council of universities regarding the speech of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, including the announcement of the award organized by the King Salman Center for Disability Research in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the aim of supporting scientific research and enhancing international cooperation in the field of disability, in addition to honoring outstanding research efforts that contribute to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities.

The award aims to honor scientific research with applied impact in various fields, including: health and Medical Sciences, educational and psychological sciences, rehabilitation and social sciences, as well as technical applications in the fields of disability, as well as research related to achieving universal access and creating inclusive environments.

The announcement explained that the award is awarded to each of its branches, reflecting its international status and importance in supporting scientific innovation in the field of disability research.

In this context, Assiut University called on faculty members, their assistants and researchers to quickly apply for the award, while adhering to the announced controls and standards, which include that the scientific work should be original and innovative, published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and provide a real addition in his field of specialization.

Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi stated that the university is keen to support researchers and encourage them to compete in prestigious international scientific awards, pointing out that the King Salman Award for disability research represents an important platform to highlight outstanding research efforts and enhance the role of universities in addressing societal issues, especially issues of people with disabilities.

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the University's keenness to provide all aspects of support to researchers, which contributes to raising the quality of scientific research outputs, and enhancing the status of Assiut University at the regional and international levels.

For his part, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and Research, said that this award is one of the most prominent specialized Awards in the field of disability, and opens up wide horizons for researchers to provide applied research that contributes to the development of services and policies supporting people with disabilities.

The university also pointed out that the application is made electronically via the official website of the award, with the deadline for submission being April 30, 2026, with the need to complete all the required documents, which include a resume, scientific production list, nomination and support letters.

The university administration stressed its keenness to circulate the declaration to various colleges and institutes, which contributes to increasing opportunities for participation, enhancing the presence of Assiut University in international scientific forums, and supporting the efforts of the state in developing the scientific research system and linking it with community issues.
