The Tissue Culture and Stem Cell Unit at Assiut University was established in 2015 by a decision of the Supreme Council of Universities No. 334 dated 26/9/2017. The unit is considered one of the special nature units at Assiut University.

• The unit is fully equipped with all the capabilities that enable faculty members and their assistants, both inside and outside the university, as well as those interested in tissue culture, to conduct advanced research in this field.

• The unit also provides many community services, whether in the medical field for disease diagnosis or in scientific research. This is carried out through the unit’s technical and administrative affairs via a Board of Directors headed by the Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research.

• The unit has obtained accreditation from the Specialized Medical Councils and the Presidential Initiative to Support Women’s Health as an accredited center for conducting Ki67, HER2, PR, and ER analyses for patients with breast tumors.
