وصرح ط/ محمود سعد - طبيب التدريب ومنسق فريق أسيوط أن مستشفيات جامعة أسيوط قد شاركت عبر فريق متميز من باحثيها يضم أعضاء هيئة تدريس ومعاونيهم وأطباء مقيمين وأطباء تدريب من مختلف أقسام المستشفي في المجموعة البحثية العالمية COVIDSurg week التى تعمل علي تسجيل بيانات المرضى الذين يخضعون للتدخلات الجراحية خلال فترة إسبوع في شهر أكتوبر ٢٠٢٠ ثم متابعتهم لمدة شهر من تاريخ الجراحة لبحث تداعيات جائحة كورونا علي المرضى وكيفية عمل مسحات وإختبارات معملية لهم وأي تاريخ مرضي للإصابة بالفيروس قبل أو بعد إجراء الجراحة وينتظر بعد إستكمال بيانات المرضى المشاركيين في الدراسة أن تنشر المجموعة البحثية نتائج الدراسة عالمياً مع التوصيات فيما يخص المدة المثلى بعد الإصابة بالفيروس قبل الخضوع لإجراء جراحي
وكانت المجموعة البحثية العالمية COVIDSurg week أعلنت اليوم عن إكتمال إدخال بيانات ١٢٥٢٢٩ مريض من ١٥٩٨ مستشفى على مستوى ١١٤ دولة علي مستوى العالم وتأتى مستشفيات جامعة أسيوط في المركز الخامس عالمياً من حيث عدد الحالات الداخلة في المجموعة البحثية CovidSurg
