President of Assiut University honors the winners of the creative competitionDr. Tarek El Gammal, President of Assiut University participated in the ceremony of honoring the winners of the creative competition from the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts organized by the College in cooperation with Assiut Cement Company, in the presence of Dr. Shehata Ghareeb Shalkami, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs. And Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and a representative of CEMEX, including Mr. Zeinab Hegazy, Head of Public Relations Sector, Mr. Ibrahim El Sayed, Public Relations Coordinator, Dr. Mohamed N Bill is marketing director along with a number of faculty members and college students.The President of the University of Assiut visited the exhibition of art works on the sidelines of the ceremony, which includes a number of works of art designed and implemented by students using cement for the first time, which is a departure from the use of traditional tools and common in that area.Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal praised the achievements of the Faculty of Fine Arts in a short period of time since its establishment, in a distinguished position inside and outside the university, and its artistic and cultural touch to its university community, which extended its influence outside the university. He pointed to a number of points of interest in the competition, Which is the recruitment of a new material that students have been using, pointing out that most of the students participating in the first and second classes, which is an early distinction for the children of the college thanks to the evil Asyut Cement Company and its progressive thinking and its keenness to support governmental and educational institutions and establish cooperative ties in order to achieve its role in community and development work in various fields.For his part, Dr. Shehata Gharib stressed the importance of student activities, which is one of the strengths of the University of Assiut, which includes young promising and gifted with creative energy in various fields, which is keen management of the University to support and care and develop their abilities and talents and the weight of their personalities in the best way.During the ceremony, Ms. Zeinab Hegazy stressed the keenness of CEMEX to cooperate with Assiut University, which is one of the most prestigious Egyptian and Arab universities. The company has a great history of joint work, especially with the Faculty of Engineering and Science, which recently extended to the Faculty of Fine Arts in Jamali Between the material used in cement and the art and creativity of students. She expressed her pride in the success of the students in the production of works of art at a high level of accuracy and excellence that reflects the magnificence and talent of students.Dr. Mohammad Thabet said that the ceremony included honoring the university president and his deputy for the winners of the creative competition, which included three areas: wall painting, sculpture and sculpture, where he won first place in the wall photography student Aya Sayed, second place student Reham Abdel Nasser, Student Nermin Tarek, while in the field of sculpture Mediani came student Ahmed Zaherdine Riad in first place, student Mahmoud Mohammed in second place, and student Hana Ahmed in third place, was also honored winners in the field of sculpture prominent, which included the first place student Maryam Hassan, second place student Salma Mohammed, and Khalid Mohammed Ahmed won third place.

Dr. Mohsen Selim - Lecturer, Sculpture Department, Faculty of Fine Arts Assiut University sculpts a clay statue of Dr. Magdi Yaqoub, the famous heart surgeon, in honor of his virtuous path. Dr. Mohsen Salim said that he began sculpting the statue since the beginning of last November. It is used in its sculpture of Aswan clay, which is considered the most difficult to use in this type of clay in the work of sculpture. The work of sculpture was completed by 90%, followed by the work of casting and reproduction, and this ends in 10 days at most ».He explained that the size of the statue is four times the normal size, with a length of 120 and 130 cm.He pointed out that the Aswan clay is difficult to sculpt alone, so a design was made of iron Karataz to take measurements and dimensions and then remove the clay and form on the design, and the mud layer between 2 and 3 cm followed by the stage of casting and reproduction.Dr. Mohsen Salim called for the statue to be placed in one of the most important fields in the Republic or in the Aswan Heart Institute.
