Dr. Mohsen Selim - Lecturer, Sculpture Department, Faculty of Fine Arts Assiut University sculpts a clay statue of Dr. Magdi Yaqoub, the famous heart surgeon, in honor of his virtuous path. Dr. Mohsen Salim said that he began sculpting the statue since the beginning of last November. It is used in its sculpture of Aswan clay, which is considered the most difficult to use in this type of clay in the work of sculpture. The work of sculpture was completed by 90%, followed by the work of casting and reproduction, and this ends in 10 days at most ».He explained that the size of the statue is four times the normal size, with a length of 120 and 130 cm.He pointed out that the Aswan clay is difficult to sculpt alone, so a design was made of iron Karataz to take measurements and dimensions and then remove the clay and form on the design, and the mud layer between 2 and 3 cm followed by the stage of casting and reproduction.Dr. Mohsen Salim called for the statue to be placed in one of the most important fields in the Republic or in the Aswan Heart Institute.
