Under the auspices of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, held a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Public Service Center for Teaching Arabic to discuss mechanisms for organizing Arabic language training courses for a number of Indian students affiliated with the University. This initiative comes within the framework of strengthening cultural and academic cooperation with the Indian side.
Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, explained that the University places great importance on supporting international students from various nationalities and is keen to provide specialized educational and training programs that contribute to their integration into the university community and enhance their linguistic and cultural communication skills. He emphasized that organizing Arabic language courses for Indian students reflects the University’s cultural and civilizational role and reinforces its position as a center of academic and cultural influence at both the regional and international levels.
The meeting discussed a proposal to implement these courses with the aim of developing the Arabic language skills of Indian students and enhancing their positive interaction within the university environment, which would be reflected in the improvement of both educational and service processes. This comes in response to a request by Ms. C. Sushma, Acting Ambassador of India to Egypt, as part of efforts to strengthen cultural and academic ties between Assiut University and the Indian side, support international students, and create a more integrated and interactive university environment.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance the marketing of the courses and activities offered by the Public Service Center for Teaching Arabic, review the performance of its various training programs—including financial aspects—and discuss a plan to develop the Center’s classrooms and infrastructure, with the aim of improving the quality of educational services provided.
Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy reaffirmed Assiut University’s commitment to providing all forms of support to international students and offering specialized training programs that meet their educational and cultural needs, reflecting the University’s societal role in serving both local and international communities.
The meeting was attended by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Director of the Public Service Center for Teaching Arabic; Professor Abdel Nasser Mahmoud Issa, Head of the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Asmaa Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Assistant Professor in the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts; and Dr. Hanan Abu Al-Qasim, Assistant Professor in the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts.
