Professor El-Minshawy Visits the Cathedral of Archangel Michael to Congratulate Anba Youannis on His Elevation to Metropolitan of the Assiut Eparchy

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, paid a cordial visit on Wednesday, December 24, to the Cathedral of Archangel Michael in Assiut to extend his congratulations to His Grace Anba Youannis on the occasion of his elevation to Metropolitan of the Eparchy of Assiut, Sahel Selim, Al-Badari, and its affiliated regions. The visit took place within the framework of strong relations and a spirit of mutual respect and affection.

During the visit, Professor El-Minshawy conveyed his sincere congratulations to His Grace Anba Youannis, wishing him continued success and guidance in his pastoral mission, and further progress in serving the members of the eparchy and promoting the values of love and peace.

The President of Assiut University expressed his appreciation for the humanitarian and social role played by the Church in serving the community, stressing the importance of sustained constructive dialogue between educational and religious institutions in a manner that strengthens human bonds and serves the local community.

Professor El-Minshawy affirmed that the visit reflects Assiut University’s commitment to fostering cordial relations with various religious and community institutions and to participating in occasions that promote goodwill, mutual understanding, and positive social engagement.

For his part, His Grace Anba Youannis expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy for the gracious visit, wishing him and Assiut University continued success. He also commended the university’s educational and societal efforts in serving the people of Assiut Governorate.

His Grace further praised the role of Assiut University in community service, its support for development initiatives, and its contribution to building conscious generations capable of positive contribution and civic engagement.

The meeting was attended by Professor Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Wagdy Rifaat, former Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education; in addition to a number of priests, clergy members, and cathedral leaders.
