Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Reviews Performance Gaps in Its Second Meeting According to the 2024/2025 Executive Plan

December 14, 2025

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that conducting a self-assessment of the performance of work teams in implementing the sector’s activities, according to Assiut University’s Strategic Plan (2024–2029), constitutes a primary objective and a top priority for achieving the strategic goals of the University.

Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, held a meeting with the team responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Executive Plan for the sector. He highlighted that this meeting is critical for evaluating the first year of implementation and correcting the course to ensure the strategic objectives for the remaining years (2024–2029) are fully achieved.

Professor Omar Saeed, Committee Coordinator, presented the results of the first-year review, including a summary of successfully implemented activities and their outcomes on the ground.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were also reviewed. The presentation indicated that certain objectives, such as (e.g., environmental awareness campaigns), exceeded their targeted indicators, while other indicators, such as (e.g., partnerships with civil society organizations), required intervention.

The committee, attended by Professor Khaled Fathy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Professor Heba Atiya Yassi, Vice Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology for Community Service and Environmental Development, Professor Mohamed Abu Rehab, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies, and Professor Mohamed Mustafa Hamd from the Faculty of Education, discussed in detail the main causes of performance gaps, which were summarized as (e.g., lack of coordination between departments, delays in budget allocation, or changes in the operational environment).

Based on the discussion, the committee moved forward with developing an immediate corrective action plan to address these causes and ensure the sector stays on track to meet its strategic objectives.
