Department of Plant Pathology is one of the specialized scientific departments at the Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University.
It prepares students to get a bachelor's degree in Plant Pathology and prepare them to work in various agricultural fields. In addition, it qualifies graduate students for master's degrees and doctorates in the field of plant pathology.
The department conduct applied research to solve problems caused by the causal organisms of plant diseases in Upper Egypt, also contributes to the department in community service and development environment by providing scientific advice to individuals and institutions and the training of agricultural workers in the fields of diagnosis and control of plant diseases.

The mission of the Department of soils and water, within the mission of the Faculty of Agriculture, is built up on preparation of professionals and researchers at the scientific and technical level that fits the scientific and research developments who are eligible to serve in the use and development of soil and water resources sustainablly and are capable of the effective community participation in the national and regional projects under the national plan to improve the productivity of these resources and to conserve them from pollution and attrition.
The department also adopt the practical training and continuing education in the use of modern techniques in cultivating the arid and semi-arid lands either in Egypt, Arabic World or Africa as well as the cooperation and integration with other departments to prepare and implement program packages of community service and developing the environment in the agricultural sector.

The department Mission to a word the Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree in Agricultural Economic this Mission is Mainly aimed to understand and Master the Economic Theory as Applied to Agricultural and Agribusiness Management.

The dairy science department mission stems from the faculty mission. This mission depends on providing high quality education and training for bachelor students to prepare them to work in the field of dairy industry as well as researchers in the same field to develop dairy product and solve the relevant problems.
It also provides the consumer with high quality and safe dairy product and to compete with other product .
In addition, the department is working for community services and environmental development by providing training in the field of dairy industry. In general, continuous development consistent with the modern in the field of dairy industry is the must.
