The College of Law continues its seminars to educate students about the importance
of participating in the presidential elections today, Tuesday, December 5,
in the College of Law.
Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University,
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President of the University for Education and Student
Affairs, Dr. Dweib Hussein Saber, Dean of the College, and Dr. Rajab Al-Kahlawy,
Vice President of the College for Education and Student Affairs.
The symposium witnessed; Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawli, Vice President of the University for
Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Madiha Darwish, General Supervisor of Student
Activities, lectured during the symposium. Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber, Professor of Public
Law and Dean of the College of Law, and Dr. Rajab Al-Kahlawi, Professor and Head of
the Department of Public Law, and Vice Dean of the College for Education and Student Affairs.
The Vice President of Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs emphasized in
his speech: The necessity of consensus among the masses of the Egyptian people; To cast
their votes in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections, explaining: Participation in
electoral elections is a national and national duty that must be performed. To build
the Egyptian state and support the development path; Which establishes the principles
of establishing the national state and achieves the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber explained: Egypt is currently witnessing major regional and
international challenges, which require strong political and economic stability,
pointing out that political participation in the presidential elections; This stability
is enhanced; By enhancing legitimacy and the ability to make appropriate political
decisions, which is reflected in strengthening confidence in the government and
the economy, and encouraging national and foreign investments, in addition to
the fourth and fifth generation wars and ideological wars that the world is witnessing.
Dr. Rajab Al-Kahlawi noted: To the university’s keenness to encourage its members;
To participate in free voting, based on the importance of the influence of the electoral
vote in the electoral process; Within a framework of democracy and complete freedom.
Praising the keenness of the university administration to support the series of seminars
organized by the College of Law, and to hold many seminars aimed at raising awareness
among its members, students and employees; The importance of political participation in
the upcoming presidential elections; As a legal and constitutional entitlement and
a national duty; It is also the basis of the development doctrine, and the basis for
developing effective public policies. It contributes to building the future of Egyptians
and achieving security and development for the Egyptian state.
The symposium addressed a number of topics, most notably: The procedures for the presidential
elections, their time stages, the rights of citizens to nominate and vote, how the law
regulates these rights, and a number of important topics, which included defining
political participation, its importance in making public policies, and political
participation; As the essence and basis of citizenship.
The symposium also shed light on the concept of the electoral process, its role in
maintaining the security and stability of the nation, and achieving the state’s will
for development, in addition to addressing the criteria for choosing between candidates
for the presidential elections, the framework regulating the presidential elections in
Egypt, and its entitlements.
