The Vice President of the University Inspects the Frozen Meat Products Manufacturing Unit at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital

Professor Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, stressed that the university is keen to support educational and service units of an applied nature, in a way that contributes to linking the educational process with the practical reality, enhancing the societal role of the university, and providing services and products subject to the approved quality and safety standards.

In this context, and under the auspices of the President of the UniversityProfessor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, inspected, on Sunday, February 8, the Frozen Meat Products Manufacturing Unit at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, as part of the field follow-up of the facilities and units affiliated to the University.

During the tour, the Vice President of the University was accompanied by Dr. Enas Abdel Hafez, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Madiha Darwish, former Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and supervisor of the Frozen Meat Products Manufacturing Unit, and Dr. Mahmoud Mustafa Mahmoud, Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, where they were briefed on the capabilities of the unit, the technical and technical equipment available in it, and the work mechanisms followed.

During the tour, Professor Mohamed Adawy explained that the unit represents an important model of integration between educational and applied aspects, and contributes to the training and qualification of students and graduates, in addition to supporting community service activities, while fully adhering to health and veterinary requirements.

For her part, Dr. Enas Abdel Hafez pointed out that the Meat Products Manufacturing Unit is affiliated with the Meat, Poultry, Fish and Fish Quality Training Center, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Abdel Malek, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and Director of the Center, explaining that the center aims to prepare qualified cadres of graduates of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine through specialized training programs in the field of meat quality, methods of examination and its suitability for human consumption, while granting trainees certificates approved by Assiut University.

In the same context, Dr. Madiha Darwish explained that the unit includes two outlets for the sale of meat products, one within the manufacturing unit, and the other inside the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Assiut University, stressing that the products are subject to strict veterinary health supervision and control through a group of professors and doctors at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the university, in order to ensure compliance with the approved standards.
