The President of Assiut University Visits the Cairo International Book Fair in its 57th Session with a Student Delegation and Inspects the Wings of the Administrative Control Authority and the Ministry of Defense

Under the chairmanship and presence of Professor Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, a delegation of university students participated in a visit to the Cairo International Book Fair in its fifty-seventh session for the year 2026, which is held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement, within the framework of the university's keenness to support cultural and knowledge awareness among its students, and enhance their participation in major national and cultural events, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Adawi, Vice President of Assiut University for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The visit came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and the students of Assiut University were waiting for the President of the University upon his arrival at the exhibition headquarters, where they accompanied him during his tour of a number of different pavilions of the exhibition, in an atmosphere that reflected the students' interest in cultural and knowledge activities, and their keenness to interact positively with national institutions.

During the tour, the President of Assiut University and the student delegation inspected a number of pavilions of national bodies and institutions, including the pavilion of the Administrative Control Authority and the National Anti-Corruption Academy, where the students were briefed on the efforts made by the state in supporting the integrity and governance system, consolidating the principles of transparency, and building strong institutions capable of facing challenges.

The tour also included a visit to the Ministry of Defense's pavilion, where the students were briefed on the awareness and cultural content provided by the pavilion that reflects the role of the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting national security, supporting comprehensive development efforts, and consolidating the values of national belonging, in a way that contributes to raising the awareness of youth about the role of national state institutions in maintaining the stability of the country.

Professor Ahmed El-Menshawy stressed that the Cairo International Book Fair is one of the largest and most important cultural events at the local and international levels, as it represents an intellectual and knowledge platform that contributes to building the awareness of young people, developing their perceptions, and introducing them to the various issues of the country.

The President of the University explained that the participation of Assiut University students in the exhibition allows them to view the latest intellectual and scientific publications, and direct interaction with cultural and national institutions, in a way that enhances the spirit of national belonging and contributes to building the student's integrated personality scientifically, culturally and socially.

For his part Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, pointed out that the students toured the Administrative Control Authority's pavilion, and were briefed on the introductory materials and awareness activities, as well as listened to an explanation from the Authority's officials about the ways, policies, and directions of the Egyptian state, Egypt's global and regional position in the field of anti-corruption, and the efforts made to promote the values of integrity and governance within state institutions.

Professor Mohamed Adawy explained that the delegation's tour included a visit to the two wings of the Ministry of Interior and the National Center for Social and Criminal Research, where the students were briefed on the activities and publications of the Ministry of Interior, and its efforts in supporting national security, combating terrorism, and developing the system of services provided to citizens, especially in the fields of civil status. The students also learned about the role of the National Center for Social and Criminal Research in studying societal issues, supporting the decision-maker through scientific research and studies, and its most important publications aimed at raising community awareness.

Professor Mohamed Adawy added that the tour witnessed a positive interaction from the students, as there was an open dialogue between them and the officials of the pavilion on the role of the supervisory bodies in protecting the state's capabilities, the importance of spreading community awareness of the culture of integrity, and the role of youth in supporting the state's efforts to combat corruption.

It is worth mentioning that the 57th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair is the largest in its history in terms of the size of participation, the diversity of events, and the richness of cultural and intellectual content, as it witnesses the unprecedented participation of 1457 publishing houses from 83 countries, with a total of 6637 exhibitors, which is the largest international participation, making this edition an exceptional cultural event that consolidates Cairo's position as the capital of enlightenment and thought in the Arab world and the Middle East.
