The meeting of the Vice President for Community Service Affairs with the members of the "Environmental Practices and Sustainability" Committee,

Professor Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, stressed that the university pays great attention to consolidating the culture of sustainable practices within the campus, in a way that contributes to the preservation of natural resources, reducing waste, and improving energy efficiency, in addition to promoting positive environmental behaviors among students and employees, and supporting interaction with the local community, in a way that reflects the developmental and environmental role of the university as a responsible educational institution that seeks to achieve institutional sustainability in accordance with the state's vision for sustainable development.

In this context, Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained during his meeting with the members of the "Environmental Practices and Sustainability" Committee, the controls and mechanisms of work in following up on the extent of the colleges' commitment to environmental practices and sustainability, pointing out that periodic follow-up is one of the main tasks entrusted to the committee, with the aim of ensuring the safety of infrastructure and the sustainability of environmental behaviors that achieve institutional sustainability.

Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Hamad, the General Coordinator of the Committee, pointed out that field visits will be carried out, including the faculties of medicine, veterinary medicine, agriculture, dentistry, and the Institute of Molecular Biology, in order to follow up on the aspects of occupational safety and health in classrooms, administrative offices, cafeterias, toilets, stores, and skylights, in addition to taking care of green spaces and waste recycling mechanisms.
