Under the auspices of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, conducted an inspection tour today, Sunday, 4 January, to follow up on street beautification and green space maintenance across the university campus. He was accompanied by Professor Mohamed Mostafa Hamd, General Supervisor of the Committee for Green Space Maintenance.
The visit comes as part of the university’s comprehensive plan to develop public facilities, enhance green areas, and improve the aesthetic appearance of streets and sidewalks, contributing to a safe, healthy, and attractive campus environment for students and staff.
Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that the university prioritizes developing the campus environment, including upgrading services and providing a distinguished educational and health-oriented environment. He highlighted that enhancing green spaces and the university’s aesthetic appeal aligns with the university’s vision of building a sustainable campus community and supporting environmentally friendly practices, in accordance with Egypt’s national sustainable development policies.
Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy explained that these inspection tours aim to monitor the implementation of the university’s plan to improve public facilities and develop green spaces on campus. He noted that attention to cleanliness, aesthetics, and the maintenance of sidewalks and walkways contributes to providing a safe, organized environment that reflects Assiut University’s academic and cultural standing.
Professor Mohamed Mostafa Hamd added that the committee’s responsibilities include overseeing the care and beautification of green spaces, monitoring and maintaining damaged sidewalks, and implementing periodic programs to develop public facilities, thereby raising awareness of the importance of preserving green areas and enhancing the quality of services offered on campus.
Accompanying the Vice President on the tour were Professor Sayed Shehata, General Supervisor of the University Gardens, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Saleh, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mr. Mahmoud Abdel Rahim, Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Physical Education, Mr. El-Hosseiny El-Tayeb from the Office of the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Mr. Ahmed Mostafa Abdel Aziz from the Environmental Projects Management Unit
