Assiut University Launches the Training Course “Scientific and Practical Foundations for Preparing Strategic Situation Assessments” for Faculty Members

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the University launched on Saturday, 29 November, the training course entitled “Scientific and Practical Foundations for Preparing Strategic Situation Assessments” for faculty members. The course is organized by the National Center for Studies, in cooperation with Assiut University, and will run from 29 November to 1 December at the Faculty and Leadership Development Center in the University’s Administrative Building.

The course is held under the supervision of Major General Ahmed El-Shahaby, President of the National Center for Studies, and Professor Mohamed Adawy, Vice President of Assiut University for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The lectures are delivered by Major General Dr. Ahmed Farouk, Consultant at the National Center for Studies, and Mr. Hany El-Aassar, Executive Director of the Center, with the participation of a distinguished group of faculty members from various faculties of the University.

The course is part of Assiut University’s commitment to supporting the skills of academic staff and enhancing their capacities in preparing situation assessments and strategic decision-making, thereby contributing to more effective planning and crisis management within academic institutions.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy affirmed that organizing this course reflects the University’s dedication to preparing academic cadres equipped with strategic analysis skills and the ability to formulate situation assessments, as essential tools for effective planning and informed decision-making within university institutions. He added that the University places great emphasis on developing the capabilities of faculty members through advanced training programs that enhance academic and research performance, commending the cooperation with the National Center for Studies and its valuable expertise in strategic studies and crisis management.

For his part, Major General Ahmed El-Shahaby praised Assiut University for its educational, research, and community service role in Upper Egypt, highlighting the significant contributions of the University hospitals to serving the community. He expressed his appreciation to Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy for his keenness on activating the provisions of the cooperation protocol signed between the Center and the University. He emphasized that security is a collective, indivisible responsibility that encompasses individuals, facilities, and communications.

He also commended the University’s continuous efforts to develop the educational and research process, noting that this cooperation enhances the capacities of academic staff, supports the stability of the educational environment, and contributes to preparing generations of students qualified to support sustainable development plans. He added that the training programs and specialized courses offered by the University for faculty members represent a leading model of cooperation between educational institutions and research centers, contributing to raising scientific and research efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of quality education and community services.

In the same context, Professor Mohamed Adawy stressed that Egypt is undergoing a critical phase of transformation and that education is the driving force of development. He underscored the importance of being well-informed about the State’s public policies, as they are a fundamental component of engaging students and members of the academic community in the decision-making process. He added that training courses provide valuable opportunities to acquire diverse skills that help deepen understanding of decision-making processes and improve priority-setting.
